Wins & Lessons Learned

  • Win: We finally got our first LOI accepted! We can't divulge too much information at this point, and we still have a lot of work to do to get this across the finish line, but this is a huge hurdle to overcome after a very long year.

  • Win: Defined our processes, stuck to the processes, and executed on our KPI and quarterly goals

  • Win: Persistence through ups and downs; partner support is vital

  • Win: Team growth by adding a team of interns to help with deal flow

  • Win: Continuous process improvement, including our AI-driven proprietary search campaign

  • Win: Deepened connections with the Denver ETA and SMB M&A ecosystems through events, meetups, and mentorships

  • Lesson: You can only control your effort, and there is a lot of luck involved in finding the right deal at the right time

  • Lesson: Post-mortems on every rejected LOI are critical; always improve on the next one

  • Lesson: Manage your emotions; this is a long process

  • Lesson: The power of building strong relationships is very real and a worthwhile investment

Subject Deep Dive:

2025 Goals and Q1 Focus

As we step into 2025, we’re energized by our mission and focused on achieving key milestones. Our primary goal is to close our first acquisition by Q2. This means ensuring our deal flow pipeline is strong, diligent efforts are prioritized, and our proprietary deal flow initiatives are expanded. Building stronger relationships within the Denver ETA and broader M&A communities is another essential aspect of our strategy this year, as we strive to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to these networks.

Operational Focus for Q1

Closing the deal currently under contract is our top priority. We’re identifying how Annika and Matthew can contribute meaningfully, setting clear diligence goals, and planning our 2025 objectives alongside a comprehensive 100-day plan for the acquired company. While advancing this deal, we’ll also maintain our brokered deal pipeline, focusing on high-quality listings in the Denver/Boulder market. If Annika and Matthew shift to diligence, we’ll onboard additional deal flow interns to keep the momentum going.

Additionally, our proprietary deal-flow engine will remain a focal point. Should our current deal close, we’ll begin exploring tangential opportunities for the future. If it doesn’t, we’ll bring on an intern to sustain our proprietary outreach cadence, ensuring our search remains robust and forward-thinking.

With these strategic and operational priorities, we’re confident that 2025 will be a transformative year for Brandt Point Holdings.

Final Thoughts

Josh & Duncan here - While 2024 had its share of company wins as well as setbacks, it also prepared us for the opportunities ahead. We are incredibly proud of all the hard work that the team has put in this year, and for how much we've learned and grown in this short time in the ETA world. We’ve taken our lessons, adjusted our approach, and are stepping into 2025 more motivated than ever. With new opportunities on the horizon, we’re confident that this new year will be a new adventure!

Your support fuels our journey forward, and we are immensely grateful.
